Learn the German Language Subscribe to my feed

Learning german is hard work. The only possible reason any sane person would learn the german language is for love, which is exactly why I started…

My first attempt at German was a series of silly and badly translated emails (using Yahoo Babel fish),  sent in an attempt to seduce a beautiful young flight attendant.

The spectacular success of the emails led directly to the next German lesson; wedding vows and wedding speech… ’nuff said there…

And now, married, with two kids living in Austria, it’s time to knuckle down and start learning seriously…

… which is why I am procrastinating by writing a blog about it instead ;-)

This blog will be broken up into categories that I find useful, and there will be plenty of links to the resources I use as I go.

My qualifications to write a blog about learning German?

None whatsoever!

I am writing this blog as I learn German, so presumably it will get better with time, and I will endeavour to correct any mistakes as I go.

I do have a some support. My wife is a native German speaker, and she just loves pointing out my mistakes ;-) I have a few german speaking friends and other family members who are helping me learn by correcting my blog

So be warned! There will almost certainly be a few mistakes here and there… feel free to point them out if you find any.

    Hi,
I am also trying to learn German. I am living in Zurich so it is not easy as they speak Swiss German here.
Anyway, I thought you might be interested in these German grammar lessons:
    http://www.mylanguagenotebook.com/learn_german.aspx
    made with My Language Notebook.
Lessons/Notes made with MLN can be embedded in websites/blogs just like youtube videos.
Anyway, all the best and good luck with your studies.
    Jim
